Individual, Couples, and Family Counseling:

The initial decision to pursue counseling can be scary. Wherever you may find yourself, I want to help you be your best, most authentic self. I work from a holistic approach, incorporating emotional, physical, and spiritual health. People are understood as acting and reacting based on their life experiences and not as a diagnosis. Difficulties and hardships are worked through in an environment of genuine care, understanding, and a mutual effort to bring about healing.

Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT):

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples is a model of therapy that focuses on improving and healing relationships through attachment. EFT understands that human beings are wired for connection. It helps partners understand how their negative patterns of interacting are harming their relationship and helps establish new patterns of interacting, as well as a more secure connection. Couples that have a secure connection have better overall health and report increased satisfaction in their intimacy and their parenting. Emotion Focused Therapy has the best research outcomes regarding long term effectiveness among all couples therapies.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an incredibly effective form of therapy for processing trauma. Trauma is the result of an experience that overwhelms the nervous system. Trauma can become frozen in the brain in such a way that individuals may feel like they are reliving an unpleasant event, both mentally and physically, when they are triggered.

EMDR is a method that essentially gets traumatic memories unfrozen by affecting the way that the brain processes information. Normal information processing is resumed, so that a person no longer feels like they are reliving the event when it is brought to mind. The event will still be remembered, but it will be much less disturbing.

Brainpaint® Neurofeedback/EEG Biofeedback

Neurofeedback trains the electrical activity and timing in your brain to optimize, resulting in permanent improvement. Clients experience a strong, productive, efficient brain that's more attentive, focused, alert, and calm. Clients report improved functioning at work, play, and rest. Clients have reported improved attention, better sleep quality, reduced physical pain and migraines and reduced panic attacks.

Neurofeedback addresses the root causes of the symptoms. Medications can be very effective in helping most of the issues that neurofeedback improves; however, medications tend to be a temporary band-aid, whereas neurofeedback enables the brain to make permanent changes -- causing symptoms to either disappear or to significantly diminish.

Most clients notice an 80% reduction in symptoms in 5-8 sessions. Typically 10-20 sessions are recommended for lasting improvement.

My Approach

I strive to create a welcoming environment for all my clients, and value the healing power of authenticity and vulnerability. Therapy is approached collaboratively and holistically.

I strongly believe that a person’s physical, spiritual, and emotional health are interconnected. I work with my clients to discover and understand how their life experiences have shaped them and their behaviors.

It is my passion to help my clients gain insight into patterns that may be causing difficulties in their lives, as well as equip them with tools they need moving forward. In doing this, my clients experience a more integrated and fulfilling life.

I do not bill any insurance companies. However, many of my clients seek reimbursement on their own. Reimbursement is based on what each client’s particular plan pays for an “out of network” mental health provider.

I am happy to provide a superbill that contains all of the information insurance companies require, should you seek reimbursement.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit:
